KVMFlow docs
Introduction
Switch your monitors with an ordinary USB switch.
What is KVMFlow?
If two computers share a keyboard, mouse and monitors, KVMFlow can switch them together. Press the USB switch to move the keyboard and mouse to the other computer; the app sends the corresponding input-switching commands to the monitors. It supports macOS and Windows.
The USB switch connects the keyboard and mouse, while existing video cables carry the picture. KVMFlow only controls monitor inputs. It does not send keyboard input, mouse input or video over the network.
Which setups is it for?
- Two computers sharing one keyboard and mouse, such as a work Mac and a personal Windows PC.
- One or more external monitors, each connected to both computers by video cables.
- An existing USB switch that you want to use to switch the displays with one press.
What you need
- A USB switch and USB upstream cables to both computers.
- External monitors that support DDC/CI, with that feature enabled in their menus.
- Video cables from each computer to the monitors.
- KVMFlow installed and running on both computers.
Hardware requirements
KVMFlow requires a USB switch and monitors that support input switching through DDC/CI. Monitors, adapters and graphics cards can affect control. Follow the user guide to check switching in both directions.
